Data Sharing

Request access to clinical research data sets

Data is collected as part of clinical research projects in order to meet the aims and answer the research questions of a particular project. For the majority of LCTC managed projects, LCTC acts as the Custodian of this data on behalf of the project's Sponsor and Data Controller organisations.

The societal benefit of using data collected as part of a specific research study for wider research purposes is widely recognised and indeed is a requirement of many funding bodies (including UKRI funders), medical journals and the University of Liverpool. As such, data held by the LCTC may be shared with approved third-party researchers, subject to all appropriate legislative and ethical requirements being confirmed.

The decision to share data is taken by the original project's Sponsor and Data Controller organisations. Approved requests are facilitated by LCTC where we hold the data. This webpage provides details on data sharing activities facilitated by LCTC.
